We will have the Shackleton simulator up & running with an 
overhead projector for everyone to try fly & land.
We will also show the guys what we get up to when we do our virtual PPL training 
& they can try a bit of dogfighting. Not forgetting our Mirage 
garden gnome in our back yard.

The presentation on Capt. Chalkie Stobbart’s 
May 2009 amazing flight in a home built aircraft from Cape Town to London and 
return to beat a 70 year old record established by Englishman Alex Henshaw in 1939. 
The evening will primarily be to spotlight Chalkie’s heroic achievement, aviating skills, physical

A Presentation by Dean Wingrin

There will be an photographic presentation on the recent SAAF Air Capability 
Demonstration held at the Roodewal weapons range. Some really nice photos of 
helicopters, rockets, cannon, smoke and dust flying around.

This was the first time the Gripen has taken part in a weapons demo as well 
as the first offensive use of the Hawk, so there will even be a shot or two 
of the Gripen and Hawk thrown in.
